cake, cards and a luchador

On Father's Day, we got to have Dad over for dinner and a little birthday party for Carter. It was fun to party! Ryanna LOVES her little Spanish Dress that my Dad brought back from Mexico for her! She is dancing dancing dancing! And she's CONVINCED that she's a professional.

Grandad was a dinosaur and rolled around with the kids on the floor for a while...until that poor dinosaur died... (oops--I'm SO not trying to say my dad is ancient, though!!)

Dad brought back a few Luchador masks for the boys, SpiderMan wouldn't take his off to save his life! He LOVES it. He couldn't figure out how to EAT in it though...I guess food will just have to WAIT!

Carter opened the present that Uncle Donny and Aunt Ash gave him. He got a couple of Mr. Potato Head buddies. That's a hit!

We gave Dad a colorful Father's Day card and he got a kick out of it!!

The kids love their Grandaddy!

Ryan relaxing and enjoying all the excitement.....
still enjoying.....
... maybe enjoying a little too much!!
Ashley and Donny gave Dad a very sweet Father's Day card too, her's was more sentimental.
CUTE Carter Boy!
Here's his cake, sans candles because they're all packed! Happy Birthday Carter!
One of Ryan's Father's Day gifts was a little model rocket that he was DYING to put together. He and Dawson got it put together and they ended up losing it on the first launch! I guess we'll have to get more.
Sorry for the horrible lighting, but I LOVED the father/son bonding time. They liked it too!

Stay tuned for more party pics.....

june 22nd is a good day

Above is the picture of the twins. Carter and Caden were born on the same day, at the same hospital and just hours apart. They are little buddies and are both so cute!

I realize that June 22nd is a special day. It's a day that Carter shares his birthday with a few other friends of ours. I am dedicating this post to the special people born on June 22nd.

If you have a birthday on June 22nd, you are a Cancer. You are emotional and loving, intuitive and imaginative, shrewd and cautious, and protective and sympathetic.

I toast you, my favorite June 22nd birthdays:
Here's to you, Jon! Here's to you, Mariah! Here's to you, Morgan! Here's to you, Caden! Here's to you, Carter!

caboose of the clan

.....is two today!

Carter's such a joy in our lives and such a busy boy constantly messing up everything that is neat and tidy. I love him dearly! I just am glad that he's too little to know that it's HIS special day and I'll still make him take a nap. He is exactly one year younger than my friend's little girl, so Happy Birthday to Mariah too! We miss you guys in Utah!

Happy Birthday little Dude!

steal of a deal!

This morning, Ryan, my sister, Ashley and the kids loaded up and ran out to my friend's house (who is also my old college roommie from Ricks!!) for her garage sale and found some good stuff. A few shirts for Ryanna, some books for Carter and some Matchbox cars for Dawson. We also bought some yummy Snickerdoodle cookies from my friend, and Ryan loved them!!!

But the BEST part of this entire trip???

A chinese copy of How to Steal a Million for 25 CENTS actually WORKS!!!!! (it's in English)

behind that cute face

This kid, I tell you what! He's always into something. I have actually heard this house shudder when Carter comes back inside from playing outside. I love him like crazy but I don't know where this dude gets his energy!

Here's an impromptu and blurry picture session with Aunt Ash the other night:

I made Taco Soup for dinner one night last week and he decided that as I was doing the dishes, he'd help himself to more.

If you do not know the proper technique to eating Taco Soup, allow him to enlighten you. It is best to be stark naked and on top of a counter to do this:

First you dip and get a cracker. Allow the three pound bag of tortilla chips nearly submerse you as you work so hard for one tiny chip.
You ever so carefully dip aforementioned chip into the main serving crock pot bowl and get your soup.
Lose most of your chip into the bowl. Then scoop the remaining bit of chip with soup and quickly shove it on your mouth.
If you are unsuccessful with the chip, simply poke your finger in the soup and see what you can get.
If the chip NOR the finger works, go straight for the serving spoon. Works every time!
