foreshadow of the future

With a tear rolling down my cheek, I snapped this picture yesterday. This couple was walking along our street and absolutely struck my heartstrings. It took them several minutes to walk the entire length of our block. It's very refreshing and encouraging to see a couple that have been through their lives together, that still hold hands.

It was so sweet, the man helped his wife across the street, gently and lovingly making sure she was able to make each step with safety; although he, himself, was relying on his cane. I won't forget this couple, they thought they were just going for a stroll around the block, but they reminded me of the eternal perspecitive and who is important in my life. I watched them until they were mostly out of sight and was grateful for their example of love and enduring 'til the end. What a wonderful sight I saw, I do hope that I see them again.

That reminds me of what F. Burton Howard says:
"If you want something to last forever,
You treat it differently....
It becomes special because
You have made it so."

first PB & J

Carter just loves making messes, especially with something delicious! This is his very first PB & J. It's the start of a wonderful relationship!

carter living off the land

Carter books it for the sidewalk, spots a lonely potato bug (rollie pollie) and shoves it in his mouth! By the time we got over to him, he spit it out and then we realized that the poor little defenseless bug is missing its head....ewwwwww! Oh well, a little bug is good for the diet, right?

two buddies

The other night, Dawson couldn't sleep. He brought out one of his favorite books and I found the boys reading together. This was so sweet, with Dawson's arm holding Ryan's arm, wrapped around Dawson. I'm so glad that my boys can share time together like this.

I know, gross, but I also thought it was cute!

fun with pocky

--------
My kids love Pocky, especially from China! Thanks, Mom, for sending it over for the kiddies to enjoy. Carter makes funny baby noises when he eats it, it's so cute.

$2 soap, oh yeah!

Ran to Bath and Body Works, they were having a major sale on their hand soap. Since I love theirs, and I love it more than any other soap, I stocked up!!

They were five for $10, ONLY $2 apiece!!

Anyone is welcome to wash their hands at my house.

fun weekend

Busy and fun weekend at our house. Cassie drove down from Spokane to spend a couple days down here. (I told her that it was too expensive to have me ship her birthday presents to her, she'd just have to come and get them instead!) We went to the Farmer's Market, went out and had a delicious meal (I had baby clams! YUM!!) and had a little birthday party for her. It was fun to have her here! My kids just adore her. Happy Birthday, Cass!
Mother's Day was wonderful and stressful! I had to do a lot of prep work for our Mother's Day mini-brunch for all the Nursery munchkins and their moms. Thanks, Ashley, for all of your help. It was a huge success. After church was over, we all napped and I slept for an hour and a half. Ahhhhhh! Ryan made me lunch and took care of the kids. I honestly did NOTHING until it was killing me NOT to do anything and then I picked up. It was a wonderful Mother's Day.
