Date Night Ideas

We officially get one or two date nights each month, and I need some good ideas. Some that are fun, creative, low-key, inexpensive and realistic. What have my blogging friends done? What do you all do now with kids and families? The baby tags along, so some ideas we come up with we can't do.

Not to knock my town, but there's no dollar movie, no good thrift shop, no cheap and yet good food. Everything closes at night, even Walmart closes at 10 on the weekends! (maybe it's 9pm--not sure exactly)

My anniversary is coming up in a little while and I want to make it fun and romantic.

Let the ideas begin!

You guys have a great park. Can you take a picnic dinner to that park? Do they kick people out at dusk like DeMeyer Park does? I'll keep thinking...

I wish I had an idea. I keep checking your site to see if someone comes up with a good one. Maybe, bowling in Pullman- I know, R-O-M-A-N-T-I-C!!!! You could always just stay home and send the kids away.

The above comment made me smile. I've done that same thing...kept checking to see what ideas other people are posting. Looks like there are a lot of, "My mind's a blank..." out there. (what movie?) With holiday prep and harried schedules who can think about romantic dates with our husbands?! (I still haven't given up hope...I'll keep checking!)

Hey!

I too, have to admit, that I've been snooping. Jenn Fager sent me her blog site when she got engaged and I saw your names...so, I've been caught. I just had to comment on your post. Ok, I've sent my husband on scavenger hunts. I've done it throughout the house with little notes everywhere, or to neighbors then when he comes back I have dinner ready. (mind you, this is with my 2 babies...not so romantic, but fun) We've also each taken a kid and we have 5 bucks to go and get dinner and a little gift for our spouse in 1 hour. Then you come back home, put the kids to bed (ideally), and enjoy dinner and a gift. Then you share what you were thinking the whole time. It kept us entertained for like 2 hours. (Maybe we're easily entertained). Sorry, long post. I have to get creative because we live out of town and my girls are too young to go out much. Good luck and Happy Anniversary!!!
