With a tear rolling down my cheek, I snapped this picture yesterday. This couple was walking along our street and absolutely struck my heartstrings. It took them several minutes to walk the entire length of our block. It's very refreshing and encouraging to see a couple that have been through their lives together, that still hold hands.
It was so sweet, the man helped his wife across the street, gently and lovingly making sure she was able to make each step with safety; although he, himself, was relying on his cane. I won't forget this couple, they thought they were just going for a stroll around the block, but they reminded me of the eternal perspecitive and who is important in my life. I watched them until they were mostly out of sight and was grateful for their example of love and enduring 'til the end. What a wonderful sight I saw, I do hope that I see them again.
That reminds me of what F. Burton Howard says:
"If you want something to last forever,
You treat it differently....
It becomes special because
You have made it so."

So sweet. How inspiring. You have an idea of how they have lived for years and years, don't you. They didn't just wake up that morning and decide to hold hands or be thoughful of each other... tfs This is a great way for me to start my sabbath morning.
Great Post!! I need a reminder sometimes, and what a perfect way you put it! thanks!
