During at the above mentioned appt, we were waiting for the Dr., I asked Ryanna if she would read a magazine to Dawson. She said "No. I don't to." I asked her why and she said that it was because there was a page in it that told the readers what's poisonous for our bodies and how we should avoid them so we don't get sick. (It was a health magazine geared towards kids) and that scared her. She told me there were "pockets of bad air" when she goes on walks, because people smoke cigarettes and she can smell them sometimes. She asked if her lungs are going to be poisoned now. I told her that she's fine and to stop worrying so much.
I asked her if she would sit down on the ground an read Dawson a BOOK instead. She said, "No. I don't want to." Again, I asked her why and she said, "Mom, I don't want to be by electricity. I might get shocked and die." I told her (through my giggles) that as long as she didn't stick anything into the sockets, she'd be just fine. She didn't even want to be NEAR the socket.
This went on for a while and finally I told her that I appreciated her being cautious and careful about how she took care of her body, but she still is a kid and need not worry and that if she has faith in her parents, we'd keep her safe. That seemed to satisfy for now, until next time.
She also has anxiety issues with the fact that there are drugs in the world. This actually keeps her up at night and she'll cry for a long time about it. She's a funny girl. I just wish she was this concerned about eating her broccoli!

Ryanna is such a smart little girl. :)
She is so smart! What a cute girl. She's going to be one of those girls who grows up to be a very driven woman and will want to make a difference in the world. Wow!
Awww, bless her heart. Isn't it funny what kids decide to be concerned about? All she needs is a grammie hug and everything will be okay!!
You're a good mom, Ang, and can calm her fears.
That is so cute! Ryanna is such a sensitive smart girl! She is just adorable!
