lost in spokane

That was fun! NOT. Just got home from dropping my mom off at the airport. Here's my drama for today:

After dropping her off and saying goodbye, I realized that I needed to find a gas station before heading back. The only problem was that there weren't any stations JUST OFF THE FREEWAY, (well, maybe there are, but I couldn't find one) so you have to go out of your way to get lost, and then hopefully you can find your way back. (I'm so not a good navigator, I'm terrible with directions) Finally found a good-priced gas station (there's an oxymoron) and then set out to find my way back home. Nice little hour-long detour....NOT.

Found a couple signs that helped guide me to where I THOUGHT I wanted to go, but then got lost amid the one-way signs and AWFUL SPOKANE drivers! They're so RUDE! Maybe they're okay, but I just happen to get a few grouchy ones in a row. It's overwhelming being in a city that you only know ONE person; thank you Cassie for staying on the phone with me and telling me how to get home! Carter doesn't feel very well and was very uncomfortable and crying, Dawson wanted to get out and was crying because he missed his "Grammie" and Ryanna was bored and wanted to go over to Cole's house. It was a VERY LONG JOURNEY home! So glad that we got home safely, though. We were only in car for 5 1/2 hours! I'm sure that Mom even made it to SLC before we even got home. Thanks for coming to visit, Mom!

I can relate to getting lost. It is not fun. Hope Carter feels better and Ryanna will have to come over to play a game of chess with Cole. :)

Scary- I was just about to ask you if you wanted to head up to Spokane when I got back and go to Kohl's. I guess maybe we'll have to bring along a driver :).

Unfortunately this happens to me often. I am the queen of U-turns.

SO SORRY to hear about your journey back home. All that when Carter isn't feeling well... your kids are so darling and patient. Sorry!! Thanks for letting me come. Loved every minute of being with you, doing crosswords, water park, orange chicken, shopping at Walmart, watching movies, staying up too late... Love you so much! Tore my heart to have you drive away knowing that Dawson and Carter where crying, Ryanna sitting bright-eyed in the back seat being brave. Good thing we're going to be together soon!!
