I know, I know these certainly aren't pictures of our trip to China. Taking a little break for tonight for our FHE and weekend updates.
Carter's first day of Nursery was yesterday. He may have a slight sour taste in his mouth as a result of a nasty fall into the door as he bolted for it after we dropped him off. Ryan and I are both in the Primary so we had to get to our various locations.
I had a couple phone calls today from members in my ward asking about Carter's head! I guess that since people were in the Library, right next door to the Nursery, they heard a loud crack followed by screaming. One account was told to me, "It sounded like a sledgehammer hitting the door!" and echoed through the hallway. Needless to say, he still has an incredible headache and bump; but he's fine! Thank goodness for wonderful Nursery leaders, they loved on him and kept him safe and secure while we were in our callings. I felt bad that I couldn't pay more attention to my sobbing child because I was distracted with my calling. Nice shiner, eh? (oh yeah, and then he tripped and fell again at Ryanna's school this morning, causing a purply-tinted ring around his eye!) Poor little dude.
Go C.T.R. POWER! Dawson is now in the CTR 5 class and absolutely loves his new CTR ring. He even took it to school today and actually came home with it. I'm going to see how many days in a row he can keep it on without losing it.
He's doing great at school, he's getting better at his writing and is such a smartie. As you can see, he also has a injured left eye! He went to his friend's birthday party and was attacked by the pinata or the bat hitting the pinata or something. It was a good swollen eye for a couple days, but he consoled with a HUGE bag of candy! Whew! As long as there's sugar...that can cure any ailment.
I asked her when she got home today what she had learned in Chess Club. She casually responded, "Oh, just ranks and files."
Oooookay, looks like she's going to be teaching me how to play! I'm so proud of her, she's such a neat kid. She can read like nobody's business, she's always knocking my socks off!!

Now that is a bump. I suppose with boys you will get some of that! I am glad he is getting over it. It was great to see Dawson and Ryanna too on this post. What a cute hair cut Ryanna has now. I am sure she doesn't get her sense of fashion from me! Thanks for sharing.
Dad
Still crying over Bo Barter's goose egg on his cute little head. It hurts my heart to see that!! (Bad post, bad post!) I feel so bad for him. Thank goodness I know you guys are loving parents or I couldn't stand the thought of him being hurt. Dawson sure looks happy with his CTR ring. One of the girls at Head to Toe asked me about my ctr ring and I told her it was a reminder to me to choose the right. And she said, you need that to help you do right? I think something was lost in translation...and it was all in English. Bu hui! Ryanna's haircut is ADORABLE! Are bangs really out? I just cut mine and they REALLY cut them...yikes. They'll grow, right? Ryanna looks like she's 6 going on 16. Glad she's in chess. She needs to keep her little mind working so she doesn't get bored. What grade level is she reading now? Does she have a new favorite author since she's gone through Junie B already? Sure miss that little girl! And your boys!! Give them all hugs for me!
P.S. Are you still jet lagging? You keep posting stuff in the middle of the night. Are you post dating your posts or what?
Hi Angela!! Thanks so much for the congratulations! Your family is adorable! Hope you are doing well!!
Looks like we have the same kind of luck with nursery. Dayton had to get stitches once after who knows what happened to him in there (no one saw it), and then this week Tucker hit his head on the table when he fell and has a nice big lump over his eye. Here's to better luck from now on.
Mom,
If by jetlagged you mean that I am physically unable to fall asleep before the wee hours of the morning and if I nap the next day I'm still unable to sleep until the wee hours of the next morning, creating a vicious cycle because of the 14-hour difference. Then, YES I am. I'm going through a little bout of insomnia but little by little I am getting better. Last week my bedtime was between 3-4am and this week I'm finding that now my bedtime is somewhere between 12:30-2am. Whew! I wouldn't have traded that trip for the world! Love you!
I am sorry to see Carter's little bump. I love Dawsons CTR ring. Camilla just went into CTR 5 also, but she didn't get a ring...I won't tell her about it:) Camilla would love to be Ryanna's pen pal. I asked her about it and she was so excited. Sounds like a plan then.
Jeremy heard the "thud" and I heard the screaming come from poor Carter (we were both in the library). Fortunately, it looks like he is doing better. I was wondering. :)
Poor Carter!! That is one massive bump! Glad he has good nursery leaders. Avery goes in next month! so excited! Love Ryanna's hair cut and she is in Chess! She is one smartie!
Ouchie! The first day of nursery is always a monumental moment for a parent. It seems it was even more monumental for him.
