I have to entertain from the hours of 3pm-8pm. From the time she gets home from school until the time she goes to bed; I have to entertain my own daughter! She gets bored very easily and can drive me crazy. She can read any book (up to the Harry Potter range) and does that every afternoon for a couple hours. It doesn't seem like a long time...but it can be.
Last night, it wouldn't do. She could no longer entertain herself. When Ryan got home from school, he and I were catching up on our day together. Ryanna kept wandering into the kitchen where we were and kept asking for someone to play with her.
Us- "Ryanna, we've already played for today. Go play in your room with your brothers because you don't have very long until you go to bed!"
Ryanna- "But I don't WANT to! I'm bored, you need to play with me."
Us- "No, we've already played today. Now it's your time to go play."
Ryanna- "Oooooookay, but I'll just go get into more mischief!"
It wasn't a warning, it was a threat!

She is way too smart for her own little britches! lol! Hang in there. Someday you'll have a real neighborhood with lots of kids she can boss around from 3-8 everyday. And then there's the piano lessons, dance lessons and don't forget running errands with Grammie to take up her time. I could even have a certain day every week that we had a Grammie Date after she did her homework and after school chores. Oooooh! Can't wait!! (Keeping my fingers crossed Ryan will be able to get a great job in the Boise area!) I'm so excited for you guys. Hey, sometimes I can volunteer at Ryanna's school and sometimes take the boys (boy?) so you can go volunteer. And we can go to Walmart together, we can go for walks together. Ashley was saying we should have our own dinner group where we make dinners for each other...and we can...[insert EVERYTHNG here] together. Happy sigh!
lol...the word verification on the above message was "depanic"...is that what you do when you hear the door knob rattling and then remember you DID lock the door? Or is it when you thought you forgot how to say something in mandarin right at the time you need it but when you open your mouth the right word comes out?
P.P.S. I have nothing for "vitheaky"...sorry.
xoxo
We have what we call the "job jar." It is filled with various household chores. When my children tell me they are SOOO bored, I tell them to grab a job out of the job jar and do it. They have been complaining of boredom much less.
too funny...i wonder if that is common for really smart kids. hunter tends to become bored very easily as well. he is often wondering around aimlessly looking for something to do and it drives me nuts as well. poor kid, too many sisters(who play girlie things) and a mom who then will give him jobs to do..take out the trash, empty the dishes, haul stuff to the garage...these are times i really really wish ned were around more to do "guy" stuff with him. hey, ill call you later.
I love you Mom!
haha! Madi is always saying that to me too...Mom, nobody will play with me!
