Carter was just diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder called Alopecia Areata. It's very rare in infants. It's more common in young adults, teens and adults. We started noticing that he had patches of hair missing, and very rapidly. One of the bald spots just appeared within the last week. There's some treatments available, but he's too young to do anything about it right now. Maybe steriod cream, but that's about it. Now we just have to monitor him to make sure that he's not showing signs of a more concerning health issue. I just feel bad for the little guy!

Ang-sorry to hear that. I was wondering what was going on when we were noticing so many bald spots on his head. I thought he was just rubbing his head on the carpet looking around him. I hope things get better for him. He's going bald at 8 months. That's a grim outlook for the rest of his hair full days...
This just breaks my heart! Ask Grandma if she knows of anything that might help. Is this something that he could maybe outgrow?
I'm still researching it and trying to figure out what the best thing for him to do is. I'm just glad that it's not worse than it is. I know that so many other infants and children have far worse things wrong with their health, I'm so glad that this is something not life-threatening! I've read that some kids' hair grow back, but I'm still learning about it. We can get away with it without much thought right now since he's so young and many kids are "patchy" at this age, but we'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for the concern, but it's really not a huge deal. {Know what's PATHETIC? After hearing his diagnosis, I grabbed the camera and thought, "Hey! I can blog this!" You know you're obsessed when...!}
Hi! Yes, its Dani! I can't believe you found me. I checked out your blog, you have been one BUSY mom! Keep in touch!
We'll pray for him! He still is so adorable...who can resist those cute eyes. The camera loves him! :) I second what mom says..maybe grandma knows something!
Poor lil' guy! You have a good outlook on it though with knowing it could be something worse. I admire that.
