Proud of Ryan

I'm a proud wife and I wanted to share what Ryan is doing these days. He is doing so well and is being so successful down at that school of his and I wanted to praise him for doing so well. Here's some highlights:

-Is on the Dean's List...still! (only 127 students out of 295 are on it) He's been on it every semester so far!

-Trial Team took him to Seattle a couple weekends ago and competed in a trial competition and his team won all three rounds and made it to the Semi-Finals! (They beat BYU! Sorry Ash) {Ryan's team was then booted because the AAJ said that his team wasn't officially registered, which wasn't true. They are currently appealing that decision.} He's automatically on it for next year too. Trial Team - competition that simulates a court room civil trial (they do not do criminal in this competition). These are similar to the types of trials that people see frequently on T.V.

-Was just chosen to be on a National Moot Court Team. He may possibly get the chance to go argue and be involved with a case in front of the 9th District Circuit Court! Not as a student, but as a real live lawyer. (Hooray!) Moot Court -competition that simulates the appellate level. This includes Courts of Appeals and Supreme Courts. This is not at all like what people often see on T.V. Two people stand up and get grilled by a bunch of judges for 30 minutes.

-Is also going to be involved in an Appellate Clinic - this is also at the appellate level. The difference between this and moot court is that Appellate Clinic involves real cases, real clients, and real judges. The outcome of the case will be binding and will have significant impacts on people's lives as the law is based around the decisions coming out of appellate courts. (So while Moot Court simulates this type of court, Appellate Clinic is the real thing.)

-He's also working on his upper level writing requirement. He would like it to be of publishable quality and then will see if he can get it published. (this requirement is a HUGE project)

-Has fulfilled his pro bono work; a requirement for graduation. (he actually got that done last summer)

-Since he won the McNichols Competition last fall, he has been been presented with some wonderful challenges and meetings with important people. He's definitely in his element.

-Has had some nice opportunities to interview with law firms around the state for a summer internship. We'll know soon where he'll be working.

I am so lucky to have him as my partner, my friend and my husband. I am so proud of him and cherish every day we are together. I support and adore him and want him to know how very proud of him I am! We have some really good friends down at that school that have blessed our lives and we're so grateful for them. I love you, Rysie!

That was such a good blog Ang. :) It really does take two though to get a person through school. He couldn't do it without you and you couldn't do it without him. It's great how it works. He really is in his element! :)
